We've done a lot of work on our end to help our Customers. That's why we offer Comfort Tips and Hints to help you with your Heating and Air Conditioning systems. Following our advice could help to lower your utility bills or help you to save on repairs and maintenance.

| Tip No. 1: |
| The Wind Blows Free, But Not if Furniture is in the Way |
| Many homes today are heated and cooled with Heat Pump systems. The discharge air temperature of these systems is not as warm as a fossil fuel system(gas, oil), therefore air flow is very important to level of comfort your heat pump can deliver. Not to be mistaken, air flow is very important for ALL forced air heating and cooling systems, but it matters much more for heat pumps. Be sure to keep furniture and drapery out of the way of supply air registers and return grilles. |
| Tip No. 2: |
| Watch for Snow Accumulation |
| Remember to remove snow from around your heat pump about the width of your snow shovel and never try to remove ice from the condenser unit coils manually, as this may damage the coil fins. |
| Tip No. 3: |
| How Low Can You Go? |
| While constantly adjusting your thermostat can wind up wasting energy, try using a programmable thermostat and set back your thermostat a couple of degrees while you're at work and/or asleep at night. It will help preserve the life of your heating/air conditioning system and bank account. |
| Tip No. 4: |
| Keep Your Blinds Drawn! |
| If you try to make a concious effort to keep your curtains or blinds closed during the Summer, you'll keep your home cooler by not letting in the warm sunlight. Your air conditioning system will be breathing easier and so will you. |
| Tip No. 5: |
| Clean air in...Clean air out |
| One of the most important things that you can do to increase the cleanliness, efficiency, and effectiveness of your heating and/or air conditioning system is to clean or replace the air filter regularly. |
| Tip No. 6: |
| 70 Degrees is What You Need! |
| Most people don't realize that the more you adjust your thermostat the more energy you're wasting... thus resulting in higher utility bills. Try to find a temperature that's right for you and keep your thermostat set to it. You'll be surprised how much money you'll save in the long run. If you think that changing the thermostat setting is the best way for you to save energy, then you should invest in a programmable thermostat. |
| Tip No. 7: |
| Time for Spring Cleaning |
| Now that it is Spring, don't forget to have your central air conditioning system inspected, cleaned, and adjusted. It is a very simple way to keep your energy costs down, up to 17%, and your comfort level up. You want that filter changed and the indoor and outdoor coils cleaned, as well as making sure that the whole system is safe and clean to run. Once you close the windows, all of the air you breath will come through your air conditioning system. This would be a great time to think about a central air duct cleaning as well. |
